AFGE, Top Federal Workers’ Union, Sides With Republicans on Shutdown

The American Federation of Government Employees, in a shift, called on Congress to immediately reopen the government without the health care measures sought by Democratic lawmakers.“Both political parties have made their point, and still there is no clear end in sight,” Everett Kelley, A.F.G.E.’s president, said in the statement, adding that “it’s time to pass a clean continuing resolution and end this shutdown today.”
